2007
Feb 3-25 ART OF TODAY, ARTISTS OF TOMORROW Inspired by the
Brooke Thom Memorial Art Show, this exhibition features works
in all mediums and processes, including installation and performance
art, done by regional high school students. Scholarships awarded
and past recipients of the Brooke Thom Memorial and the Fallbrook
Art Assn scholarships showed current work.
Mar 4-25 ALL’S FAIR IN ART This is the first open juried
show presented by the Art Center and was very exciting …
there were no limitations on medium, discipline, student or
professional status.
Apr 1-6 PLEASURES OF THE TABLE An exhibition inspired by the
2007 Community Read, ‘My Life in France’ by Julia
Childs & Alex Prud’Homme, presented in collaboration
with the Friends of the Fallbrook Library.
Apr 4 GOOD TASTE featuring French wines & foods along
with a program.
Apr 13-29 FALLBROOK ART ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP SHOW
This juried show was open to association members only and
includes a Children’s Art Exhibit, an outgrowth of the
Mary LaHue Art Assist Program that places working artists
in area elementary schools to teach art.
May 5-6 14th Annual REFLECTIONS OF NATURE This exclusive invitational
show features works by 30 artists working in a variety of
media including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pen &
ink, bronze, wood, stone, and steel. The focus is not only
on the accurate representation of animals in typical behaviors
and proper environment, but also on the landscape that sustains
them with both studio & plein air works.
May 20-Jun 24 11th Annual NATIONAL GOURD FINE ART SHOW It’s
amazing that so common an object as a gourd can be transformed
into fascinating works of art as well as functional objects
and jewelry. The Fallbrook area is nationally acclaimed as
a gourd-growing destination. Artists from across the country
vie for entry into this very popular show and never disappoint
us in the new ways they devise to use gourds in their art.
As always, the final weekend of the show coincides with the
Welburn International Gourd.
July 8 - Aug 26 - GALAXY OF
GLASS 10TH ANNUAL GLASS SHOW Juried show with
emphasis on hot blown glass, the dual exhibition and sale
presents fine art glass as well as gift items, functional
ware, and jewelry.

THE EQUINE
The focus is on hand-crafted artisan goods paintings, pastels,
etchings, sculpture, and other works of fine art,
both contemporary and historical.

Jan 8 – 29. Absolute Amadeus – Fallbrook Celebrates
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 250th Birthday.
A photo documentary exhibition on the life and times of Mozart,
considered by many to be the greatest composer of all times,
on loan from the Austrian Consulate. Adding to the mood are
Carolyn McHenry’s 18th century inspired mannequins in
period clothing. In contrast, Los Angeles visual artist Nancy
Mooslin assigns the twelve equal-tempered pitches in an octave
of music to the colors of the twelve-hue color wheel to create
wonderful abstract paintings. Show Hours Mon-Sat 10am –

Travel Exhibitions
The Art Center is the only venue in the U.S. to host both
of these prestigious shows simultaneously. While transparent
watercolor will be well represented, both societies have expanded
to include all water-based media – an exciting show
featuring works by artists prominent in their field.

Mar 26-Apr 16 Art of the Flower – A Tribute to the Gardener.
Inspiration for the 2nd Annual Art of the Flower Show comes
from the Fallbrook Garden Club’s 75th Diamond Jubilee
Anniversary. The show will feature original art, and many
flower related gift items. A special historical section will
take a look at the role of the garden and the gardener.
Apr 2 Art of the Flower - The Festival. 10 am - 4pm –
Downtown Fallbrook & the Art Studios
Enjoy a leisurely day in the emerging arts district of downtown
Fallbrook. This intimate fair celebrates the flower in art,
home décor, gardens, landscape, and weddings. A meandering
arrangement of booths and mini gardens creates a relaxed setting
in which to browse, shop and learn about art and decoration.
Explore local art galleries and the Art Studios of Fallbrook.
The downtown village merchants and restaurants feature specialty
items. ‘Artists in Action’ demos throughout the
day include Painters, Ceramicists, Printmakers, Floral Arranging,
Garden Design, and Wedding ideas plus many art activities
for children.

May 6 & 7. Reflections of Nature 13th Annual National
Invitational Wildlife Art Show.
A must for wildlife art lovers! The 2006 show features the
work of the nation’s top artists working in watercolor,
oil, pastels, bronze, stone, wood and more!
May 7. Wild in the Streets– A Celebration of Nature
and Art in Fallbrook.
This one-day festival, held in conjunction with the Reflections
of Nature wildlife art show, celebrates Nature and Preservation!
The downtown village is abuzz with live exotic animals, activities
for children, fossils, info on land and endangered animal
conservancy, and village merchants offer special deals &
meals.

Jan 10- Feb 5 Pale Pachyderm (Art White Elephant) Local artists,
artisans, designers, and collectors offer their wares for
sale.
Feb 13-Mar 6 Transferring Ink in the West This two-part printmaking
exhibition includes juried artists from the Western United
States joined by a historic section including works by such
noted artists as Dali, Picasso, Chagall, Miro, Hassam, Martin
Lewis, Emil Kosa, and others.
Mar 12-27 Shining a Light Showcasing works by dyslexic artists
in all mediums plus a special children’s section - Presented
with The Dyslexia Foundation
Apr 3-30 The Art of the Flower This fine-art show features
paintings, sculpture, and floral designs, plus a Shop with
unique flower merchandise.
